 Exposing the Unseen: A Call to Photographers to Challenge Territory, Identity, and Exclusion at Paraná FotoFest 2025

Photographers worldwide are invited to participate in Paraná FotoFest 2025, a thought-provoking photography festival held in Paraná, Entre Ríos, Argentina. This festival offers a platform for visual storytellers to delve deep into pressing themes such as territory, identity, and exclusion. We are calling on bold creators to explore these crucial subjects through their lens, with a particular focus on the lives of marginalized communities in small towns. How do these communities, often overlooked, navigate the intertwining struggles of identity, poverty, and social exclusion?

In this year's edition, we seek works that shed light on the resilience and spirit of these individuals and regions, revealing the complexities of their existence. Your images should challenge the viewer and provoke important conversations about belonging, socio-political realities, gender disparities, and the effects of exclusion.

What We're Looking For

We’re particularly interested in powerful, poignant visual narratives that capture:

- The intersection of territory and identity in small, overlooked communities.

- How exclusion manifests and impacts individuals and groups.

- The struggle of gender and socio-political issues in marginalized environments.

- Resilience, hope, and the daily battles of people within these regions.

The imagery above, for example, evokes the stark contrast between survival and spirit, seen in the children navigating a harsh environment or a solitary figure standing amidst a desolate landscape. Such visuals are emblematic of the powerful stories we hope to highlight—stories that go beyond surface-level documentation to tap into the emotional and existential aspects of the human experience.

 How to Participate

Selected photographers will be invited by the state of  Entre Ríos, receiving a special letter of invitation and accommodations during the festival. While no payment for the visit or travel will be provided, photographers will be offered reimbursement through a guest per diem.
